A man shot his wife and then shot himself in the hospice unit of an Allentown, Penn. hospital this afternoon, according to the Philadelphia CBS affiliate. Both died at the scene.

The shooting inside the Lehigh Valley Hospital hospice involved only the wife’s hospice room, and the public was not at risk, police told The Morning Call newspaper. Neither the hospice unit nor the hospital were evacuated, and the county coroner and investigators conducted their work without needing to move patients, said Attorney Jim Martin during a 2 p.m. press conference.

The identity of the shooter and his wife were not released, pending notification of family.
