A picture is worth a thousand words, and scenario-based educational training videos are worth even more, says a Texas provider of long-term care caregiver training services.

mmLearn, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, offers more than 300 educational training videos on senior care scenarios ranging from topics on fall prevention and caregiver stress to step-by-step caregiver strategies for dementia care. The video library is mostly free to use and is centered on real-life situations that professional caregivers may encounter every week. Many of its client communities use the videos as staff training and also for to educate residents and their families, said Nina Rios, executive director of mmLearn, in a press release.

The company researches, produces and posts its own new training videos every week based on breaking trends in the industry and feedback gathered from caregiver viewers. A simple feedback tool allows any viewer to submit suggestions for new topics, and the company also holds monthly focus groups with senior healthcare workers to discover new topic needs, where input is gathered from certified nursing assistants (CNAs), medication aides and restorative aides.

“We are creating unique content that gives caregivers in the senior living industry increased understanding and a sense of enlightenment. Our mission is to fill the gaps in the industry,” Rios said. “Our website is interactive and easy to use so those who need the information most can access it right at their fingertips.”
