INFORMATION:  Thank you for considering being a volunteer at the Environments for Aging Conference (EFA 13)!  If you are selected as a volunteer, you will be participating in the premier industry event, earning continuing education credits and networking with top industry leaders.  Volunteers will be awarded a full-conference pass in return for volunteering to work the conference. A full-conference pass includes access to the Exhibit Hall, keynote presentations, educational sessions (you must stay at your assigned room), educational materials, conference meals, and networking events.  You will be responsible for all your own travel, accommodation and incidentals.

Volunteer Positions:  Volunteers work full days and the entire conference (Sun-Tuesday).  Some volunteers will be selected to work the Pre-Conference Programs and tours if you are available.  You will receive a schedule on-site as changes are frequently required last minute.

Volunteer Roles:  A limited amount of volunteer positions are available for the 2013 conference.  As a volunteer, you may be asked to:

  • Staff a tour.  Tours are a popular part of the conference and always sell out fast!  You will be there to help sponsors and attendees, communicate with the site staff, and monitor tour progress.
  • Monitor a room for sessions including scanning badges, handing out and collecting evaluations, introduce speakers, and answer continuing education credit questions.
  • Staff an information and continuing education credit table near the registration area.

Other Information:

There will be a mandatory volunteer meeting to be held Sunday, April 7 at 8:00 am for all volunteers. Room TBA

You will receive your schedule for the week at the meeting.

Volunteers are responsible for the following:   Travel, hotel sleeping room parking fees if any.  These expenses are on your own.

Please fill out the online form before February 20, 2013 and acknowledge the terms of agreement.  Decisions will be sent out the following week so you will have adequate time to make your travel plans.

If you have already signed up for the conference and paid for your pass, you are not eligible for consideration as a volunteer.

Hotel Accommodations:  The Roosevelt – New Orleans, 123 Baronne St., New Orleans, LA  70112.  The 2013 EFA Room Rate  is $205/night +tax and fees.  To book your hotel room call  504-648-1200.  You must mention the EFA to get the group room rate.  If you elect to stay at another property please note you will need to be at the host hotel at 7:30 am sharp every morning, please keep this in mind if booking another hotel.
